Stuffed French Toast



I have always wanted to try stuffed french toast…it is so simple, but I hadn’t made it until this morning. My husband and I are doing some ‘budget-eating’…so bread, milk, eggs were pretty easy to come by. Plus, I have quite a bit of cream cheese left over from all of the holiday baking!

All you need:



apple butter, jam, cinnamon, etc…whatever you want to fill it with!

1 egg




I started by mixing some softened cream cheese with a cinnamon-honey butter that a friend had made us for the holidays. You could also mix with apple butter, cinnamon sugar, jelly/jam, etc.


I toasted 4 slices of bread so that the bread wouldn’t tear as easily when I added the cream cheese mixture.


I spread the mixture on 2 slices of the bread and then placed the other slices on top…making sandwiches.

Next, I mixed up 1 egg + 1/2 cup of milk + tbsp of cinnamon. I dipped the sandwiches in the mixture right before placing them on the skillet.




Remove from skillet. 🙂 Sprinkle with powdered sugar.



I served with bacon and eggs:)
